Robert Salas

BIOGRAPHY

A graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy (1964), Mr. Salas served on active duty as a Missile Launch Officer, Minuteman I, and propulsion engineer on the Titan III missile program. After separating from the Air Force, he worked on Space Shuttle design proposals for Martin-Marietta Aerospace and Rockwell International. 

From 1974 until his retirement in 1995, he worked as an aircraft structures certification engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration.  

 

He recently completed seventeen years as a mathematics teacher. 

 

He has authored three books about the UFO phenomenon: Faded Giant, Unidentified - The UFO Phenomenon, and UAPs and the Nuclear Puzzle. Since 1994, he has spoken in the U.S. and internationally about his experiences during the 1967 Malmstrom AFB, and UFO incidents.

On September 27, 2010, he co-sponsored a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC where he and six other former military witnesses testified about the reality of UFO incidents at US nuclear weapons bases.

 

In May 2013 he participated in the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure at the National Press Club, Washington DC. Mr. Salas has spoken at international conferences in Norway, France, England, Ireland, Germany, Costa Rica, Peru, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.
